Parent Survey
The Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Parent Survey is anonymous and easy to use. Surveys are completed online only. If the school wishes, parents of students from all grades can do the survey, whether or not their children are of age to participate in our student survey.

In other words, parents of children in the elementary school years are able to participate as well, if the school desires them to take part.
The Parent Survey consists of 64 questions, covering five broad measures:
- Two-way Communication
- Parents Support Learning at Home
- School Supports Learning
- School Supports Child's Social and Emotional Development
- Parents Support Learning at School
Schools have the option to set their own open-ended question.
For parents who wish to do the survey but who do not have access to the Internet, the school might set aside a particular week when a place and specified time can be arranged for these parents to participate (e.g., at a Community Computer Access Centre, in the school computer lab, etc.). The school would need to manage the distribution of usernames and passwords at that time, and arrange for someone to assist parents to log on to the site.
Parents may wish to be apprised of results. Parent Survey results are made available only to the School Principal and School Coordinator as a snapshot report. It is the responsibility of the school principal to decide whether this is appropriate, and what, if any, results are to be shared with parents. The Learning Bar will not make results available to parents online or in a report.
Parent Survey Requirements/Protocol:
- The School Coordinator is responsible for corresponding with parents, telling them about the survey and inviting their participation and collecting/collating parent email addresses.
- Note: we do not set up for paper and pencil surveys.
- We recommend all households be invited to complete the survey.
- One parent per household completes the survey online.
- A few questions may seem irrelevant to parents of younger children (e.g., about drugs and alcohol prevention); however, most questions are relevant for all parents.
- Results will be made available online to the School Principal and School Coordinator as a snapshot report. No report is provided to the district.
